Requiring a healer to try and manage something like this in 500v500 battles makes me think the devs were doing copious amounts of LSD. Not sure why there is healer hate lately in MMORPGS but again this system was so stupid. Good god can you imagine trying to balance a system like that. No one asked for complicated skills where you can add modifiers and aim at body parts. So many people on the Alpha forums basically feel the same way. But on the other hand it would be cool to get player crafted castles and mega cities.Ĥ) The health and skill systems are fucking dumb. If i have to do that in game to participate in the game im going to die inside. I understand gamers arent kids anymore with a ton of time to dump into a game, and the feeling of being outclassed by someone else that had time to grind levels, weapons and armor probably does not feel so good in a PvP environment but vertical progression and meaningful character building is a HUGE reason why i like to play these types of games.ģ) The builder system gives me mixed feelings. Idk what the hell MMORPGs are doing lately but CU wanting to limit or outright remove vertical progression kills my soul. This looks like a slight improvement on EQ1 graphics right now.Ģ) Lack of vertical progression. This morning, CSE’s Mark Jacobs told backers to tune in for this afternoon’s stream, as the devs aimed to show off a lot of the cool stuff that they’ve been working on since July 2019. Can bases/towns even survive for more than a few seconds when that many siege engines and players are trying to lay waste? To date, the graphics and animations are absolutely trash. Camelot Unchained studio City State Entertainment has been teasing something big for a while now. What an absolute cluster fuck those fights are going to be. But then I think about it from the practical standpoint. Is 500v500 even going to be fun? The more i think about it the less i am inclined to think it will be. Thats the point! Strive for an experience that no one has even imagined. I get that CU is striving for something different. I cant think of one instance in gaming where something even close to that has occurred. But the more I think about it, the less I think they needed to create an engine. Creating an engine from the ground up is very difficult. The former creator of Mythic Entertainment’s The Dark Age of Camelot is back with a new game, and he has raised 7.5 million for the online fantasy game dubbed Camelot Unchained. I dont really care if the project takes 15+ years to be realized.if its a good game I am happy to wait, but I am not seeing improvement between iterations. There is a lot of stuff I am seeing that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. But with that said I am thinking hard about it. I am glad that January will mark a new push of the game to beta backers, and that is a good thing. I dont think I will request a refund as I dont really need the money and want this project to succeed. Alphas & Betas MMORPG News Betawatch: Camelot Unchained promises good news in 2024 By Eliot Lefebvre - Decem7:00 PM 1 Look, Camelot Unchained, I see you promising good things for 2024. I supported because my favorite MMOs were DAOC and Warhammer (i fucking loved Warhammer actually). I am a Warrior 2.0 Forever backer as well.
