Is there something I can do to fix this? I heard that a few people have the same problem but I have not found a concrete solution. I am guessing the dual channel mode doesn't work with this configuration so I should be losing out on some performance from there, but I guess there are other detriments to this patchwork solution. I currently have 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3/1866mhz Kingston HyperX Fury. Tried flashing different bioses with the USB. Disconnected all peripherals (USB, LAN, SATA) except power -> No change. Used 3 different RAM types, in all of the slots -> No change. It shows Q-code 78 (ACPI module initialization). I have tried to put the old RAM on but the problem still exists. I am novice to PC building/upgrading but I am looking to upgrade the RAM in my 4yr old rig (specs below). I am having problems getting my Maximus VII Gene to boot. Only way system boots is if I use them on slots B1 and B2, but it still will give me the occasional error 55 or 00 once every 5-6 boot attempts, and it fixes itself with a reboot. Thing is when I tried to replace the ram modules using the exact same slots PC would not boot and it gives me error code 55 (memory problem). memory kits at that speed of 16gb x2 8gb, as i dont want 4x4gb as 2 sticks tend to give better performance and require less power. I had been using Ballistix Tactical 8GB (2x4) using slots A1 and B1 with no issues. I checked with the manufacturer and this specific RAM set is supported by both my MB and my CPU (I am using an Intel i5 6600K). Recently I decided to upgrade some so I replaced my old 1060 6GB GPU with a 1080ti and after that I bought a G.Skill TridentZ 32GB (2x16GB) (F4-3200C15D-32GTZ) set to upgrade the RAM.
